- Thicken your hair: Try applying a matte eye-shadow (that matches your root color, obvi) to your part line! I cannot explain the science behind why this works, but only assure you that it truly does.
- Say bye-bye to static-y hair: If you're like me, you have chronic static-hair, and rubbing one dryer sheet all over your head just doesn't cut it. Try pushing a dryer sheet into the bristles of your brush and using that brush while you blow dry or style your hair. It keeps the static away all day!
- Grow your lashes: Honestly, what college student has $100.00 to spend on a lash growth formula? Not me. Start putting vaseline on your bare lashes before bed every night and I'm not kidding you'll start seeing awesome results in just a few weeks (and if by some chance you don't, you're only out a few dollars).
- Use your broken product: We all know the feeling of opening a makeup bag only to find some eye shadow or blush has somehow shattered and dusted through your bag, like the stars dust the galaxies. Throw away the remains? No way, Jose! Not on a college kids budget. Mix some vaseline with the remaining product to create a new lip color or creme eye-shadow!
- Get the most use out of your lipstick: Don't have enough room in your purse for all the products needed for a mid-day, makeup touch-up? Worry no more-try rubbing a little lipstick on your finger (preferably a light pink tone) and applying it to the apples of your cheeks for a natural rosy-blush look! This same trick can be used as a faux creme eye-shadow. The right shade of lipstick is a three-in-one!
- Get curlier lashes: Blow dry your lash curler before using it! Just like the hairs on your head, your lashes will curl better with a little heat (I mean honestly, can you imagine curling your hair with a room temperature curling iron?).
- Zap your zits: Strawberries. Cut one open and set that sucker on your zit! Strawberries are high in salicylic acid (aka that stuff your face wash probably contains 2% of)!
- Have soft, full lips: Brush them with a toothbrush! It exfoliates for extra smooth lips and helps plump them up too!
- Extend mascara life: Drop a few drops of contact solution into your mascara tube when it starts to dry out. The contact solution softens up the dried mascara without watering it down, and doubles mascara life!
- Have smooth skin: Put one cup of baking soda in your bath. I have no idea why this works, but my mom told me to try it once, so I did, and it worked!! You know what they say though, mother knows best.
- Keep your makeup looking fresh all day: Hair spray your face, sista. Sure you could spend $30-40 on makeup setting spray, but why would you when hairspray does the job better and cheeper?! Ask any of my friends who have allowed me to do their makeup, and they will more than likely let you know I sprayed their face.
